Owner, Lead Therapist & Qualified Supervisor at A New Path Counseling

Welcome, my name is Tanya or as some of my kids & teen clients like to call me “Mrs. T”.

I am so glad you are here and hope to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 12 years of experience, the Owner of A New Path Counseling and Qualified Supervisor (MH 12229). I really do love being a therapist and supervisor!

My passion and purpose is working neurodivergent kids, teens, young adults and adults. I love helping those individuals who don’t quite “fit in a box”. I specialize in creating a unique, creative and dynamic treatment plan to meet the client’s individual needs. And my ultimate goal is for clients to leave therapy finding radical acceptance living with their neurodivergence and know that it does not define them. My hope is that they can develop self-acceptance and find their strengths in how they are uniquely wired.

What is neurodivergence? It’s a fancy word that means neurodivergent brains see, learn and function differently. It’s also an umbrella term that includes things such as ADHD, OCD, Tourette/tic disorders, Autism, and anxiety to name a few.

For me, this specialty is both personal and professional. My purpose came from personal place of challenge in my life when some of my family members were diagnosed Tourette Syndrome (TS). Having this lived experience has greatly helped fueled my passion to help those individuals (and their families) gain insight, tools and radical acceptance for living life with TS. I also understand and know that living with TS requires understanding that it comes along with some other co-occuring conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Autism and some other challenges. But take heart, we can tackle this together! There is hope to living a full, thriving life.

When I’m not counseling, you can find me with a hot cup of coffee in hand, exercising or having my nose in a good book. I am married to my husband of 12 years and we have two amazing, spirited boys. My family is my everything; they inspire and teach me so much.
